What's His Deal

Twice a month His Deal presents an interactive Bible-centered lunch in downtown Seattle.  In this safe, relaxed environment men find help to deal with their career, relationships and spiritual life.  This comes through discovering the practical wisdom of what Jesus Christ taught.

The His Deal Story

The founder of His Deal seems an unlikely choice to be leading Bible studies.  George Toles’ resume' tilts more toward radio than the Resurrection.  He’s been a deejay, newscaster, TV sports anchor, program director, radio salesman, recording studio manager, commercial narrator, NBA stadium announcer and ad agency owner.  His broadcasting degrees are from Wheaton College and the University of Illinois.

His no-pressure –- sometimes humorous -- approach, marketplace illustrations and enthusiasm about the lasting peace available through Jesus Christ offer a unique flavor to these twice-monthly, ninety-minute sessions.  Many of his study handouts are at www.HisDeal.org on the Archives page.

What to Expect at His Deal

Lunches at His Deal
Our invigorating lunches (12 noon-1:30 p.m.) provide an in-person visit with men in the marketplace who are actively living out their faith in Christ and trying to apply the wisdom of the Scriptures in all areas of life.  We deal with questions such as:

  • Who were the most powerful early influences in your life?  How did they impact you?
  • What did Jesus do for you when you gave your life to Him?
  • What do you gain from reading and studying the Bible?
  • Describe the season of life you’re in now.  What have you learned in navigating the transitions from one season to the next?
  • If there’s a lingering, unanswered question that you keep asking yourself and/or God, what is it?
  • What drives you each day?
  • How would you define success and failure in life? Which of your successes or failures have been the most helpful?
  • How does knowing Jesus Christ on a personal level make a difference when you’re struggling with relational brokenness, pain, illness, regret, fear, failure, loneliness, confusion, shame, depression and even despair?
In each season of life men enjoy knowing other men who are authentic, genuine and sincere.  As we experience these qualities in each other, we come to realize that their true Source is not in us but in the God whom we know and serve.

Meet our Chaplain, Buzz Dahlen

Buzz Dahlen, one of God’s one-of-a-kinds, has been a coach, teacher, pastor, nonprofit director, fitness center manager, chaplain (corporate and for the Seattle SuperSonics), husband, father and now grandfather (his favorite role).  Buzz knows the Bible and loves to share its comfort and wisdom.  He’s an excellent listener and connects with all generations.  He’s available to devote "face time" to you and yours wherever you are on your journey. He readily admits to not having all the answers, but he knows Who does.  All conversations are held with complete confidentiality.
