Mr. Lonely

“All the lonely people.  Where do they all come from?”  There are 330 million of us in this country now, and thousands more each day.  Yet for many of us there aren’t enough to dispel the deep pain of being alone and friendless. Will this sinkhole ever be filled with love?

Hanging there, spiked through His hands and feet, the bleeding target of heartless haters … No one came to the rescue of this, the loneliest man who ever lived. He died for our sins, taking our place on that horrid altar.

Elvis asked, “Are you lonesome tonight?”  Sam Cooke mourned, “Another Saturday night, and I ain’t got nobody.”  The Everly Brothers pined, “When will I be loved?”  The answer is “You were loved, on that cross.”  Love’s ultimate gift, purchased for you with the life of God’s Son.  He knows loneliness.  Your long and winding road will take you to His door where He hands you the key of faith and invites you in.

Into whose emptiness can you offer this Love and hope today?

“The Lord Himself will lead you and be with you.  He will not fail you or abandon you, so do not lose courage or be afraid.”  Deuteronomy 31:8
