Roots and Ruts

The Bitterroot Mountains stretch 103 miles across Montana and Idaho.  Their name recalls the curious phrase, “a root of bitterness.” That nasty root is the likely cause of why so many families are in tatters today.

It’s saddening to ruminate about what went wrong. Even marriage expert Tina Turner is asking, “What’s love got to do with it?”

Chances are, in one form or another, the villain is mankind’s oldest sin, pride.  Regardless of who the culprit is, honestly now, isn’t life too short to hold grudges that build barricades and dig dead-end ruts?

”Those who are loved by God, let His love continually pour from you to one another because God is love. Everyone who loves is fathered by God and experiences an intimate knowledge of Him. The one who doesn’t love has yet to know God, for God is love.”   I John 4:7-8

“And out of reverence for Christ be supportive of each other in love.”  Ephesians 5:21
