You Can't Have One Without a Mother

It’s 1958.  Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant, the Brad and J-Lo of their day, are starring in “Indiscreet.”  Ironically, the hit song from that movie is “Love and Marriage.”

Remember … “Love and marriage, love and marriage, go together like a horse and carriage.  This I tell you, brother, ‘You can’t have one without the other.’”

Then this caution:  “Try, try, try to separate them; it’s an illusion.”  The crooner? Frank Sinatra, four-time husband.

Where can you find Love that “never gives up … cares more for others than for self … doesn’t want what it doesn’t have … doesn’t strut … doesn’t have a swelled head … does not force itself on others … isn’t always ‘me first’ … doesn’t keep score of the sins of others ... doesn’t revel when others grovel … takes pleasure in the flowering of truth … puts up with anything ... trusts God always … always looks for the best … never looks back … keeps going to the end?”

Rightfully so, we honor moms at this time of year.  But we all know where genuine Love can be found – the kind that comes with faith, hope and ________.
